Dare to Lead by Brené Brown
I’m currently reading this wonderful book full of research findings and tips on how to be a courageous leader. Brené reminds us that, “When we dare to lead, we don’t pretend to have the right answers; we stay curious and ask the right questions.”
I love this book as it shares that the heart is just as important as the mind in being a good leader and team member. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
The Buddha and the Badass by Vishen Lakhiani
I’ve just started reading this book and am really enjoying it. An excerpt from the back cover reads:
“Have you ever noticed how some people have all the luck? They move with fluidity and ease, nailing projects with a smile on their face. These superstars are often able to get in the zone, displaying remarkable focus and creativity. They are masters of relationships. When they do business, it's about win-win. And one of the most unique qualities they seem to have is remarkable luck. Things just go easy for them. This book is about how to awaken the twin powers of the Buddha--the spiritual master--and the Badass--the change-maker who challenges the status quo. You already have both inside you. Once awakened, they will transform the way you work.” Link to Amazon
Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life by Byron Katie
Byron Katie’s “The Work” as she describes it, is simply four questions when applied to a specific problem, enables you to see what is troubling you in an entirely different light.
As Katie says, "It's not the problem that causes our suffering; it's our thinking about the problem." She goes on to explain that trying to let go of a painful thought never works. Instead, through undergoing “The Work”, the thought lets go of us. We can then truly love what is, just as it is. The book will guide you step-by-step, through clear and vivid examples, exactly how to use her revolutionary process for yourself. It is available through Amazon and other sellers.
1000+ Little Things Happy Successful People Do Differently by Marc & Angel Chernoff.
Here’s a fun book I found in a bookstore several months ago. It challenges you to have fun with your life, and be happy. It’s easy to read in small segments and each time you pick it up you will find the time was well spent. It can even be used as a topic of conversation at your dinner table each night with your family during this time of “stay safe, stay home”. Maybe you will learn something new about each other!
