Hello Renée,

"You must meet me half way - BUY the lottery ticket!" ~ God

This is the punch line to a joke about a poor gentleman who believes God has foresaken him because he never wins the lottery.  As a result he continues to be so poor he is living on the streets in rags.  The poor man feels he is deserving of riches and isn't living the life of his dreams.  He prays and prays and prays each month for God to help him win the lottery but to no avail; he never wins the lottery.  The punch line reminds us we must help ourselves by taking action!

Taking the LEAP with you!

Victoria wants to stay sober...
She’s quit drinking alcohol before, only to relapse. This time, however, she has a young child counting on her to “get better” and return from rehab. She has vowed she will be there for her child.

Travis wants a long-term relationship... Content for years to be a “confirmed bachelor”, he recently recovered from a life-threatening illness and is now clear he is ready for a lifelong partner.

Doug wants to feel happy again... Under the weight of a huge personal and marital crisis last summer, he attempted suicide. He’s not sure whether his marriage will make it, but he knows he wants to live.

The common but invisible thread connecting these three people is this: Each person has actually declared an intention, rather than wistfully wishing for things to be different.

Conscious change is brought about by the two qualities inherent in consciousness: attention and intention,”

Attention energizes, and intention transforms.

Whatever you put your attention on will grow stronger in your life….
Intention, on the other hand, triggers transformation of energy and information. Intention organizes its own fulfillment.

Deepak Chopra -Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.

When you declare an intention, you gain the support of your subconscious mind.
But you also need to implement a few more steps to get the expected outcome.

YOUR CONFIDENCE TUNE-UP

Whether you’re stepping into an important meeting or simply stepping into your day, confidence is the key to feeling great, performing your best, living a great life, and inspiring others to do the same.

But it’s not always easy to find your swagger and keep that pep in your step, is it? Especially if you’ve recently encountered obstacles, losses or challenges that may have knocked you off track.

Fortunately, we humans are surprisingly simple creatures. As such, we respond well to triggers and cues, especially when it comes to shifting our mindset.

To that end, here are a few quick confidence boosters for you to use any time your confidence needs a boost.

They work. I promise!

  1. Sit Up Straight

Your mother was right, good posture is important. But it’s just not a matter of keeping a hunchback at bay…when you sit or stand tall, you feel better. Slumping or slouching inhibits your breath, slows the function of your organs, and makes you feel sludgy. Good posture on the other hand, helps more oxygen flow to your lungs, eliminates body aches, and just plain makes you feel better.

Try this – today when you talk on the phone, stand instead of sit. Stand tall, walk around, and notice the renewed power and confidence in your voice.  Get a step tracker to help motivate to keep moving!

  1. Throw Your Hands Up

In many cultures winning is usually followed by hands thrust into the sky in a wide “V”. It’s a natural physical reaction. Who knows which came first, but there’s a direct correlation between throwing your hands in the air and feeling like a winner. Behavioral scientists have identified this posture as “The Power Stance.” Another stance that works is the “Wonder Women Stance” - stand tall with feet spread and your hands on your hips.

Try it right now to get a boost. Hold it for 1 minute and you’ll be unstoppable for the rest of the day.  To add an extra boost, do one of these poses just before an important meeting or call - you will rock it!

  1. Pump Up the Jams

Cultures all around the world have ritualistic and ceremonial dances. Sports stars plug in their favorite music before the big game. Professional speakers and entertainers play their ‘pump up’ tunes just before they go onstage.  (Tony Robbins vigorously jumps up and down as well.)  It gives them extra energy.

Music has a profound ability to physiology shift your mood, so put together a playlist of your favorite tunes and listen to it daily. Add in some movement for an even greater impact on your overall well-being. For an even greater boost, sing your favorite songs loud and proud. You might get a few funny looks from those around you, but so what. Perhaps they’ll join in too - a flash mob in the making?!!

  1. Speak Positivity into Your Day

As you are getting ready to start your day, making breakfast, or driving, speak out loud and with conviction of how good you feel, how much you are going to accomplish, how you are going to make a difference for others, and how you will show love for your friends, family and colleagues. Speak as if you are a sports coach in the locker room giving yourself a pep talk to go out and win the game.  It becomes even more powerful when you look in the mirror while you are doing it!

Whatever you do, get out there and let the world know who you are. It’s your time to shine!

Renée Blasky is the Founder and CEO of The LEAP Network Ltd.

She wasn’t always the risk-taking entrepreneur that she is today. Through several important life experiences, including being an "expat" for the vast majority of her life and sailing an ocean, she learned the importance and benefits of risk-taking and how to embrace risk rather than fear it! Renée also realized capturing life’s fulfillment meant giving back to others. So, she started her second business: The LEAP Network in order to share her experiences and expertise with "trailing spouses" who have sacrificed their careers to move across the globe when their spouses are transferred overseas.  Renée coaches on ways to avoid the "trailing spouse syndrome" to eliminate frustration, boredom and loneliness while becoming more fulfilled and happy!
