“The purpose of life is a life of purpose.”

Hello Renée,

I started finding meaning in my life when I realized how empowering it is to help others; to have impact on their lives, and to make their lives better.

The ripple effect of helping others is even more powerful and impactful as it spreads to those you didn’t even directly help.  So by helping one person, you may actually be positively impacting three, four, or even more.

That’s why I love coaching – it allows me to make a wonderful living while helping those going through transitions and transformations make the best of their journeys; to become stronger and better and maybe even start their own businesses along the way.

But no mater how the transitions and transformations begins, it’s critical to know your “why".  Do you know your life’s purpose?

Taking the LEAP with you!

The Business of Purpose

Two bricklayers are working alongside one another at a building site.  A man walks by and asks one of them what they’re doing.

The first bricklayer replies, "I don't know and I don't care as long as I get paid.  All I do is slap this crummy mortar on these crummy bricks and pile them up in a crummy line."

The other bricklayer smiles, proudly proclaiming, "I'm helping to build the new school, where I know kids can learn, dream and lay a strong foundation for their futures."

We’ve all met people who focus on the “what” they’re doing instead of the “why” they’re doing it. It’s difficult to feel passionate about something when we’re missing the meaning behind what we’re doing and why we’re here.

So why are we here?

How to Fulfill Your Purpose AND Make a Living

If you don’t feel fulfilled in the work you are currently doing, perhaps it’s time to consider starting your own business, based on your purpose and passion.

If you want to envision a business based on your life purpose and passion, try the following approach:

1. Determine your strengths:  Life purpose is directly related to personal strengths. E.g., if communication is your strength then your purpose may be found in that area.

2. Determine your passions:  Passions are the things you love to do - with or without external rewards (like money or recognition).

3. Determine your causes:  Identify the causes that matter to you.  Is there a condition in the world that makes you feel discontent or compels you to action?

4. Find the sweet spot:  After determining your strengths, passions and causes find the overlap between them.  That’s the sweet spot, where you’re likely to find the most fulfillment in your work life.

5. Your mission, should you choose to accept it:  Based on the information above, write a personal mission statement – it can help guide your passions throughout your career.

It’s not (necessarily) about the money:  Instead of focusing on a money goal, try setting goals that “add value” - a goal that improves the quality of people's lives or of the earth.

Whether you’re a bricklayer, a coach, a CEO or a solopreneur, it’s ultimately through helping others that we all achieve our life purpose.

Challenge Question

Are you ready to accept YOUR mission?

Life can throw us some real challenges and, unless we figure out how to address those challenges, we can feel absolutely powerless.  We are often are own worst enemies!  We continually doubt ourselves, put ourselves down and give up on our dreams because of it.  We are afraid!  Afraid of failure, afraid of success, afraid of change... And who knows what else we are afraid of?

When our doubts conquer us we need a Champion to chase those demons away. When we don’t have someone who can supports us on our journey we can get STUCK in a RUT and feel paralyzed and powerless!

Let me help you find your dreams, claim back your power, make empowering decisions and get in the right mindset for success.

Renée Blasky is the Founder and CEO of The LEAP Network Ltd.

She wasn’t always the risk-taking entrepreneur that she is today. Through several important life experiences, including being an "expat" for the vast majority of her life and sailing an ocean, she learned the importance and benefits of risk-taking and how to embrace risk rather than fear it! Renée also realized capturing life’s fulfillment meant giving back to others. So, she started her second business: The LEAP Network in order to share her experiences and expertise with entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs.  This includes "trailing spouses", stay-at-home parents or elderly care givers who have sacrificed their careers due to circumstances beyond their control.  Renée coaches existing entrepreneurs on ways to monetize their passion, revitalize their businesses and take action to grow their businesses.  She coaches those  who have sacrificed their careers, either by choice or by uncontrolled circumstances, to eliminate frustration, boredom and loneliness while becoming more fulfilled and happy!  By helping them start their own online businesses, they can get their identity back, boost their self esteem and once again be financially independent!
